I find it interesting that all these new age types who believe the "Universe" is out to bless them are teaching and regurgitating wisdom they learned from Believers. They have read and listened to materials from great leaders who also taught about the Source of their success.
However, when they pass on the wisdom they have gleaned, they conveniently leave out the part about having a relationship with God. These secular humanist types do a good job of training people to expect the blessings that belong to the sons of God as though they are just as entitled to the children's bread as we are. Unfortunately, they are living in harvest because they practice the spiritual laws that we often ignore.
God said if we give, it will be given unto us. God said if we obey, we will eat the good of the land. God said if we speak, we'll have what we say.

Those who teach new age stuff do all those things and reap the harvest of their obedience to God's universal laws. How much  more should we, God's sons, obey the laws he set in place to bless us???

Fortunately, the wealth of the wicked is being stored up for us, and God told us not to worry about their current success. We already know the outcome.

It just seems so strange to me that it  has taken me so long to come around, to get to the place of obedience, when the "world" obeys without much effort. I'm just saying...!

We were talking last night at the TPP gathering about living like the early church did, when the Holy Spirit had free reign and people EXPECTED miracles. The body lived daily with joy and simplicity because they had no concerns. What was there to be concerned about when a single touch could fix whatever was wrong?

We were also talking about how the Spirit moved in the early US days. We talked about Jonathan Edwards and Kathryn Kuhlman and how their activities caused thousands to be slain in the Spirit and come to Christ. When they were in service, passers by would be knocked out. When their train passed through town, people were knocked off their horses and laid out in the streets.

I CAN'T WAIT for that to happen when people login to The Purpose Place. I sense such an anointing on this community that makes be believe God will supernaturally level people just for tuning in. I can see a husband passing by his wife's computer room and getting knocked off his feet because she's watching a podcast of the service.

Miracles are going to happen, people, and I am glad I'm a part of it!!!

There is nothing like soaking in God's presence. I certainly need to soak more. Pastor Donna at CLC introduced me to the music of Alberto and Kimberly Rivera. It's music you put on and then hunker down to bask in God's presence.

When it plays, it truly transforms you into the throne room (if you let it). I can see myself sitting at His feet in worship and adoration. I can hear him whispering words of love to me. His presence is like nothing this earth can offer because there is peace, joy, immeasurable love. My heart yearns for God when I soak. I really need to soak more.

Along the way, we settle.

We settle for something not quite right, or an outfit that isn't our best look, or a job that doesn't quite maximize our talents. We settle for relationships that don't give us joy, or a website that's, "good enough."

The only way to get mediocre is one step at a time.

You don't have to settle. It's a choice you get to make every day.

Greetings! I was wondering how often members log into The Purpose Place. I've read some awesome blog posts and forum discussion threads here. If you haven't checked out what all is available here, there's so much to enjoy. The groups are great, too. Topics range from marriage to leadership to men's warrior training to worship and ministry power packed discussions. I enjoy myself each time I login.

I was thinging how nice it is to connect with everyone here. I've made new friends and reconnected with old ones. I'm looking forward to the new friends I will make when everyone accepts my friend requests. Let's all get connected and make The Purpose Place the place to be online.

My husband and I were reading from Acts this morning, and something occurred to me. It talks about how Christ's disciples were imbued with the Holy Spirit and then began to perform miracles. They had been sitting around waiting for this "gift" from God, not really knowing what it was, when all of a sudden, little flames alighted upon each one. Instantly they were able to perform miracles. They had enough experience with Christ to easily step into their new roles as re-Christs. They simply believed that the Holy Spirit gave them the power.

When they spoke with authority to the crowd that was there, the crowd was almost exclusively men. The women were probably at home doing home-related business. The men folk listened to the Apostles, believed what they said, and then said, "Ok, we believe you. Now what do we do?" When the Apostles laid hands on them, they received the same Holy Spirit and were saved. Then (and here's one part that struck me), they went home and told their families, "This is what we believe now." Their families were saved, too. How do I know this? The Bible says they were all living communally, having sold off their excess and begun sharing with their neighbors as they had need.

It says they went to the temple together daily and they had meals together daily. Here's the other part that struck me. They ate their meals together with gladness and simplicity. They were not bogged down with the cares of life. They had no worries. They just did life daily without fear or sadness. Why? Well, the Apostles were there performing miracles. They had the ability to perform the same miracles because they had the same Holy Spirit. What was there to worry about?

If someone fell and broke an ankle, someone just touched it, healed it, and went on their way. If someone ran out of food, someone would just touch it and make it stretch so everyone had more than enough. If someone lost their sight, someone would touch their eyes, and they would regain it. What was there to be worried about? That's the way it's supposed to be!!

We have the same Holy Spirit!!! We are supposed to be naturally supernatural. We are so consumed with our own lives that we can't see the forest for the woods. It's right in our hands. Literally! We have the power to produce the same kinds of miracles, but we don't believe it. Here we are 2000 years later, after humanity has "evolved" into higher thinkers, and we are struggling for the simplicity with which those early believers approached their existance.

God, grant us the simplicity to be Naturally Supernatural!

God is light! It is impossible for us to fellowship with God if we walk in darkness or if there is darkness in us.  What, then, is darkness?

Upon examination, I found seeking to benefit self a the expense of others (opposite of love), gossip, manipulation, laziness, disobedience, self centeredness, lust of the flesh (you can tell by what size I am), lust of the eyes, plain old pride (nothing plain about it), fear, unforgiveness, and second guessing God. I started to list some general stuff as sin, but I had to catch myself and look inward to what was keeping me in darkness.

God said that if we confess our sin, he is (not was, not will be) faithful and just to forgive us of those sins becasue Jesus paid for them (propitiation). I confessed the sin. It is gone. The beauty of it is that I didn't get rid of the darkness in me. It went away when I was forgiven. Light shone into the darkness and banished it!

It is impossible to love God and the world at the same time. God's anointing (the smearing of the Holy Spirit) enables us to remain in the light. As I daily draw closer to God, his Holy Spirit becomes more and more infused into my being and strengthens me to BE light as He is light!
